Veneers

Veneers are thin slices of porcelain. These are precisely made to fit over the visible surface of your teeth. In order to attach the veneer, a small amount of enamel is removed from the tooth, usually the same thickness as the veneer will be. Then the dental team takes an impression and sends it to a dental technician, who makes the veneer in a laboratory. The veneer is then bonded to the tooth to form a strong and natural-looking repair.

White Fillings

White fillings are now a popular alternative to amalgam fillings. The new dental materials mean it is much easier to find a perfect match for the shade of a particular tooth. In most cases, it is quite impossible to see that the tooth even has a filling, and they are considered to be longer lasting than amalgam fillings.. Sometimes white filling material can be used to cover unsightly marks on teeth, in a similar way to veneers

Crowns

Crowns are similar to veneers but a crown covers the whole tooth. The usual method for fitting a crown involves shaping the tooth under local anaesthetic and then taking an impression using a rubber-like material. The impression is then sent to the laboratory along with the details of the shade to be used, and the technician makes the crown. While your crown is being made, the prepared tooth can be protected with a temporary crown, before attaching the new crowns.

Bridges

Bridges are ideal for people who don't like dentures and only have a few teeth missing. Bridges are usually made by putting a crown on the teeth on either side of the gap and attaching a false tooth in the middle. The bridge can't be removed. These bridges are usually made of precious metal bonded to porcelain. Sometimes other non-precious metals are used in the base to give it extra strength

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening professional bleaching is the most common form of procedure. Your dental team will apply the whitening product to your teeth, using a specially made tray which fits into your mouth like a mouthguard. The ‘active ingredient' in the product is usually hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. As the active ingredient is broken down, oxygen gets into the enamel on the teeth and the tooth colour is made lighter, leaving you with natural-looking teeth.

WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Dental implant surgery is a long-term oral health solution that replaces missing teeth permanently. Restorative dentistry such as this is extremely popular because of the confidence it gives people once the procedure has been completed. Our dentists place the implants into the jawbone as a solid, resistant replacement to natural teeth. Once fitted into your mouth they can support crowns and dentures in the same way that natural teeth do. The implants themselves are made of titanium and look sort of like a screw. During the healing phase, this screw is fused with your bone once it has been fitted. This fusing ensures the implant is held firmly in place. Individual crowns or dentures are then fitted on top to create the appearance of real teeth. Depending on your circumstance, you can choose to have a single tooth replaced with an implant or several replacement teeth fitted in one procedure. Our dental specialists will work with you to determine what the best solution is for you to ensure long-term success. Understanding what dental implants are can be confusing, and a little scary. Thankfully, next gen is here to keep you calm and ensure you understand all aspects of the procedure.

HOW LONG DO DENTAL IMPLANTS LAST?

Dentistry such as this is extremely popular. The benefits of it are apparent, from a nice smile to the eradication of potentially harmful gum diseases. Another crucial advantage of a dental implant procedure is the fact that they last for decades. Typically implants can last 20-30 years, usually longer if good hygiene is kept. This makes them a very sound investment because you can rest assured that you won’t have to spend another few thousand pounds in one or two years’ time. Once installed, our types of implants aren’t going anywhere. While they are typically long-lasting, it is important to maintain high levels of dental hygiene to avoid having to undergo maintenance, or worse, replacement. Proper care, such as regularly brushing your teeth, and visiting your dentist every 6 months, all help to guarantee the longevity of this type of implant. Similarly, avoiding poor lifestyle choices that could damage the integrity of the titanium screw will help, as will not injuring or damaging your jaw bone. A combination of these elements can affect how long they last. It’s important to note though that these factors shouldn’t put you off implants as, overall, they will last for several decades.

HOW TO FIX CROOKED TEETH: COSMETIC DENTISTRY VS BRACES

Crooked teeth can be caused due to a number of reasons but can also be fixed in multiple ways too. With the modern dentistry techniques that are available, there are a number of treatments that patients can undergo in order to achieve straight teeth and a perfect smile as a result. It’s possible that as a child, you inherited crooked teeth from your parents meaning that through no fault of your own you suffer from this. Alternatively, you may have had a habit when you were younger, such as using a dummy or sucking on your thumb, that has caused these issues with your teeth.

This can lead to you living most of your life with crooked teeth and potentially suffering damaged confidence as a result. In search of corrective treatment, you may have explored both cosmetic dentistry options and braces but aren’t sure how they both work. Well, the processes can be changed depending on which treatment you opt for but in simple terms, braces will move your teeth over a steady period of time, therefore straightening previously misaligned teeth. Cosmetic dentistry, on the other hand, uses other methods such as veneers or composite bonding to alter the appearance of your teeth in order for them to appear straight.

WHAT IS A SMILE MAKEOVER?

Our same-day smile makeover is an extremely popular choice amongst our clients as it’s able to provide stunning results in a single day. The treatment time is extremely quick and will be carried out following a series of planning appointments, at our luxury facility in Liverpool. You’ll be able to watch a film or listen to music whilst the procedure is being carried out, making for a relaxed appointment. What exactly will happen during the one-day treatment appointment will be planned beforehand, Which is what allows us to complete the treatment in one day.

During the consultation stage, we’ll outline the treatment we’ll apply on the day. In the case of composite bonding, we can apply this quickly as it takes no prep time. If you were looking for porcelain veneers, for example, this would require a mould taking and time for your veneers to be sculpted in a lab. As the composite material is applied over the top of your tooth, the procedure is simple and non-invasive. Not only can we improve the shape of your smile, but we can also improve the colour of your teeth, leaving you with a stunning white smile.

MY TOOTH IS BADLY BROKEN – WHAT CAN I DO?

If your tooth is severely broken, this can limit your options in terms of which treatments would be suitable. Orthodontic treatment, for example, wouldn’t be a great choice as this won’t be able to repair your tooth. Cosmetic dentists, such as ourselves, can offer a range of treatments, however, that could help repair your tooth. Once we’ve carried out a full case assessment we would be able to understand the scope of the damage and plan an effective treatment.

We can provide composite bonding treatments, which consist of a composite material being applied over the teeth to make them appear healthy. Although, if the damage to your tooth is severe, you may require a different treatment. Depending on where the damage to your tooth has occurred, it’s possible you could have a porcelain veneer fitted. This is when a small part of the tooth is removed to have the porcelain veneer fitted over the top of your natural teeth. This means that the damaged part of the tooth could be removed and replaced with a durable and natural-looking veneer.

HOW DO DENTAL IMPLANTS WORK?

Dental implants work by giving you the appearance, and functionality, of regular, natural teeth. The metals and products used to create them will allow you to use them as if they were normal teeth. From smiling to eating and drinking, once the healing phase is over you never have to worry about eating something hard and the implant coming loose. Dental implants work by fusing around the bone cells in your jaw. Over time, the screw will be absorbed by the bone regrowth and will become symbiotic. Dental implants have worked for millions of people, for thousands of years, in fact. The first recorded versions of ‘implants’ were a little more rudimentary. The implant process would involve the extraction of teeth, which would be replaced with shells, rocks, and even animal teeth! Nowadays, dental implants are some of the most advanced procedures on the planet and have come a long way since then. Metal implants will work for most people, however, there are a few criteria that patients may need to meet. For instance, you need to have a jawbone that has reached full growth and have good oral tissues (aka gums). Both of these factors help ensure a smooth, successful procedure the first time around.

WHAT DOES TOOTH WHITENING INVOLVE?

There are multiple ways teeth can be whitened, for example, if a porcelain veneer was fitted, this would be a glowing white colour, improving your smile. Similarly, if we applied composite veneers, this would whiten your teeth, making them appear a healthy natural colour. These methods are recommended, instead of DIY tooth whitening attempts at home as they provide great results for longer and are done in a safe environment. When DIY attempts are made, there is a high chance that you could permanently damage your teeth, leading to more serious issues later in life.

If you’re looking for our composite tooth whitening treatment, we can apply this as part of our same-day treatment, making for a quick and easy solution. This works by covering your tooth in the natural white-coloured material, thus covering any discolouration. This treatment is also ideal if you have any chips in your teeth, as the material can be used to fill in the chips, restoring the natural shape of your teeth.

WHAT IS A VENEER?

There are two types of veneer which we provide, each with its own benefits. Composite veneers, which are made using the same composite bonding material, are applied over the top of the tooth. This leaves the natural tooth intact, with the composite material simply being applied over the top to create a natural look. This type of veneer typically lasts between five and seven years before the treatment will need to be reapplied. The treatment can also be reversed as no permanent changes are being made to your teeth. This makes it a great choice for those who would like whiter, straighter teeth, without the long term commitment.

Porcelain veneers, however, are made and applied using a slightly different process. As the material which is being used is different, the veneers must first be sculpted using a mould of your natural teeth, in a lab. It’s likely that whilst the veneers are being sculpted, you’ll be fitted with temporary veneers until they are ready. Your teeth will have a thin layer of enamel removed from them in order to fit the porcelain veneers. The porcelain material is more durable than the composite material and is unable to be stained, unlike composite veneers which will need to be cared for as you would your natural teeth.

Porcelain veneers, which we offer for £425 per tooth, whereas the E-max veneers veneers we offer for £215 per tooth, making it a little more expensive but due to the length of time it lasts, it could be a more cost-effective investment for some. The only difference, however, is that porcelain veneers require permanent changes to your teeth, unlike porcelain veneers, which can be applied to your natural teeth.

WHAT IS COSMETIC DENTISTRY?

Cosmetic dentistry is a term used to describe any form of dental work or procedure that is undertaken with the sole aim of improving the overall appearance of your teeth and smile. Procedures within the remit of this form of dentistry include whitening, straightening, composite bonds, veneers, crowns, etc. Unlike orthodontic treatments, cosmetic dentistry is more of an aesthetic treatment and, therefore, does not improve the overall health of the mouth and teeth.

Cosmetic dentistry typically focuses on improving the appearance of teeth, rather than overall oral health and the prevention of diseases. Traditional dentistry is key to the long-term health of your teeth and ensuring that you don’t develop any serious issues with your oral health and your dentist will often give you tips and recommendations as to how to keep your teeth clean and maintain your oral health. Cosmetic dentists, such as ourselves, will provide treatments that can improve how your teeth look, giving you complete smile makeovers and boosting your confidence. Both are important and can play crucial roles in both your physical and mental health.

WHAT IS ORTHODONTICS?

Orthodontics refers to an area of dentistry that revolves around correcting the improper placement of teeth. The most common orthodontic procedures, such as installing braces or retainers, aim to straighten or move your teeth to improve their positioning within your mouth and ensure the health of your teeth, gums, and jaw can be maintained in the long term.

HOW ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS DONE?

Aesthetic dentistry such as this is usually done in two stages. The first stage involves putting the actual implant into the jawbone. Tooth extraction may need to take place beforehand if the treatment plan involves removing bad/loose teeth. Once the dental extraction has taken place, and the implant has been fitted to the jawbone, the first phase has been completed. Phase two takes place some months later, once the titanium rod has fused to the jaw bone. Bone grafting in the human body is a slow process, hence why phase two takes a few months. During that healing time, we’ll supply you with a set of temporary teeth that will still give the appearance of perfect teeth. These temporary teeth can be used in the same way, it’s just that they are not as permanent, or designed to last as long, as actual implants. Once our team is satisfied that adequate bone healing has taken place, we can move on with part two of the procedure. Part two involves fitting the dental crown on top of the implant. We can offer this second part of the procedure under local anaesthetic that removes a lot of the pain that can be felt as each crown is fitted.

HOW CAN I PERMANENTLY FIX MY TEETH?

Here at next gen, we have a vast array of treatments to fix your smile, each adapted to correct a different type of dental issue. Whether it’s crooked, discoloured or missing teeth, our state-of-the-art technology and incredibly skilled team of professionals are there to help you choose a treatment that will fully restore your smile.

There is no one way to permanently ‘fix your teeth’ that will work for everyone. The best solution for you will depend on:

1 – Where your problem with your smile lies

2 – The underlying cause of this problem

3 – The severity of your case.

Our team of dedicated professionals will always strive to provide a solution that is unique to your case and that will have you leaving our clinic with a smile you won’t want to hide.

IS COSMETIC DENTISTRY SAFE FOR YOUR HEALTH?

The most common cosmetic dentistry procedures, if undertaken by a dental professional such as those provided by the team at next gen, will be perfectly safe for most people.

We pride ourselves on our unprecedented and truly personalised level of care – your safety is always our number one priority. However, it’s important to note that not all procedures are suitable for all patients. This is why we always have a consultation with you prior to beginning any course of treatment. This consultation puts us in a position to comprehensively understand your individual needs and circumstances and gives us the opportunity to address any questions you may have as regards the treatment you’ll be booked in for.

HOW CAN I FIX GAPS BETWEEN MY TEETH?

Composite bonding is a procedure commonly used in order to help fix minor imperfections or gaps between teeth. This is where a composite resin is applied over the top of the tooth. In more severe cases, a dental implant may be required.

HOW TO REPLACE MISSING TEETH?

While our dental team offers this particular type of cosmetic dentistry, there are other ways to replace missing teeth. Broadly, there are four other ways that you can replace them. They are as follows:

Implant-supported bridges can be used when you have several teeth that need replacing. Bridges tend to be quicker to install than individual implants because you’re only permanently fixing the teeth at either end of the bridge. This is the opposite of implant dentistry, which involves screwing each one in.  A tooth-supported bridge uses existing teeth to support the bridge, as opposed to placing implants in. A crown is placed on the teeth next to the missing ones and then cemented in place. A tooth-supported bridge is completed over several visits and is less invasive than an implant. It is also often more economical because less has to be done.

Removable partial dentures are another option for people who may only need one or two individual teeth-replacing. These dentures are clasped into place by a dental surgeon and are different to a complete set of dentures that replace an entire row of teeth. This option is popular thanks to its cost-effective, simple procedure. Also, additional teeth can be added to the partial denture if you lose a single tooth in the future.

A flipper is a final option. A flipper is a temporary partial denture that can flip in and out of position, hence the name. Flippers are cheap, and painless but can be uncomfortable over time, and have a higher chance of breaking and needing future replacement.

WHAT CAN YOU EAT WITH INVISALIGN BRACES?

Invisalign braces are becoming increasingly popular as people in their adulthood are looking to correct their teeth, without the noticeability of traditional ‘train track’ metal braces.

As well as their more discreet appearance, another major advantage of Invisalign braces is that they are removable, which (good news!) means that you do not necessarily have to make any adjustment to your dietary habits.

There is, however, one important rule: you must remove your aligner (what the brace is called) before eating or drinking anything that isn’t water. This is to prevent damage to the trays and the potential build-up of bacteria, which could discolour the aligner, reducing its transparency.

HOW TO RELIEVE PAIN CAUSED BY TEETH OVERCROWDING?

Teeth overcrowding often occurs as a result of teeth being misaligned. Due to genetic issues related to the jaw or other external factors, the teeth compete for space as they grow and end up in ‘crooked’ positions. This can cause pain in your teeth, gum, and jaws, which can even radiate down to your neck and shoulders in more severe cases.

In terms of short-term relief, over-the-counter pain relief medications can help to reduce inflammation and ease the pain. Thinking long term, it may be worth looking into braces or retainers in order to permanently move your teeth into the correct position. In some cases, tooth extraction will also be required.

Would you like to learn more about how we can help you to perfect your smile? Book a treatment today where we will have a specialist talk you through your options.

WHAT DENTAL ISSUES WOULD MEAN I NEED DENTAL TREATMENT?

There are a range of issues that may lead you to get dental treatment, the most common are crooked teeth, misaligned teeth, discoloured teeth and missing teeth. Each of these issues can affect your smile and the comfort of eating and drinking, which can be corrected with treatment from us at next gen. Crooked teeth can ruin the confidence of having a good smile and even make eating and caring for your teeth more difficult. If your teeth aren’t properly aligned, it can create gaps and hard to reach areas that harbour bacteria. This can lead to more serious issues such as gum disease if not cleaned.

Misaligned teeth can also present the same problem, by creating space between teeth that allows bacteria to grow easily. Depending on the severity of the misalignment, this could cause issues such as malocclusion and problems with the jaw. Misalignment can also prevent the teeth from properly fitting together, affecting your smile. There are a few options you have when it comes to correcting these issues, such as composite bonding, fixed braces, or Clear X Aligners which is the invisible braces option we offer.

If you’re looking for a dental treatment to fix discoloured teeth, composite bonding and veneers are a great option as the material can be used to hide any imperfections and whiten your teeth. The composite veneers can also cover your whole tooth, meaning we are able to reshape your teeth and make them appear straighter if you wish. Composite veneers are also less commitment than porcelain veneers as we will need to permanently change your teeth to fit the latter. However, if you’re confident that porcelain veneers are for you, you can enjoy a long-lasting smile that won’t get stained, for up to 15 years.

Missing teeth can completely ruin a smile and pose issues to your oral health too, which is why you should seek to fix this issue as quickly as possible. By having dental implant treatment with us, we’re able to replace your missing tooth with an artificial one, by fusing a screw to your jaw bone to secure the tooth in place. This will both repair your smile and make sure you can keep your gums healthy, as there will no longer be an exposed, vulnerable part of your gum.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO REPLACE MISSING TEETH?

The cost of replacing missing teeth varies depending on your chosen service and the number of teeth that need replacing. As we’ve outlined in other answers, there are various methods to replace teeth, all of which come with different features, and price points. In addition to the methods, the number of implants will affect the price. If you need just one tooth replaced then that is clearly going to be much cheaper than if you require an entire row of implants.

HOW LONG DOES DENTAL TREATMENT TAKE?

Different treatments will take different amounts of time to carry out. It also will depend on the patient’s individual situation as some treatments can take longer than others, simply due to the severity of the dental issues. We will discuss this with you in your consultation appointment, however, to ensure that you’re aware of how long the treatment will take and what kind of results you can expect.

DOES DENTAL TREATMENT HURT?

Some treatments will hurt more than others. Our same-day smile makeover, for example, only consists of applying a composite material, which is pain-free. As the material is only being applied over the top of your teeth, there is no need for any invasive tools. Dental implants, however, are a more intensive procedure that consists of a titanium screw being fused to the bone to attach the artificial tooth. This can require a few days of recovery time too, unlike the same-day smile makeover, which is a single-day procedure.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR RECEIVING DENTAL TREATMENT?

The process begins when you get in touch with us to begin discussing treatment options. Book a consultation with us and let us know what results you’d like to achieve. We can then outline what each treatment entails and begin discussing which are the best options for you. Once you’ve selected a treatment, we’ll put together a treatment plan which is tailored to you and outlines the entire process from start to finish. We can give you an indication as to how long the procedure will take and how many appointments will be required.

For a treatment such as our same-day smile treatment, there will be appointments prior to the procedure which would outline what work we’ll actually be carrying out for you. After that, there is only one treatment day and no other appointments to worry about. Dental implants for example can consist of more appointments as we will need to complete the process gradually and ensure that you heal properly throughout. We will need to check up on you after to ensure that the treatment has been successful and that you’re not suffering from any health issues as a result.

CAN I GET DENTAL TREATMENT THAT CHANGES THE SHAPE OF MY TEETH?

There are procedures we can offer that are able to fix a range of issues, including the shape of your teeth. If your teeth are crooked or misaligned, you can have braces or invisible braces to fix this. However, we understand that this isn’t always a patient’s first choice as treatment times can be long and the regular appointments can cause disruption to your daily life. To cater to people who feel this way and want incredible results in a single day, we offer a same-day smile treatment.

During this treatment, we will use a composite material, which is applied to your tooth, and used to both whiten your teeth and reshape them. Reshaping isn’t always necessary and you may just be looking for a teeth whitening procedure. However, if you have crooked or misaligned teeth, we can use the composite material to straighten them too, fixing your smile in a matter of hours. Another benefit to choosing this process to correct your smile, instead of braces, is that you’re able to have your teeth whitened in the procedure too.

WHY ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS SO EXPENSIVE?

The dental implant procedure is expensive because it is a one-time procedure that provides decades of benefits. Don’t think of them as a regular product. Think of them as an investment, the same way you would a house, car, or nice watch. Implant success means you’ll never have to think about whether or not your teeth look perfect. Beyond cosmetic reasons, the implants are expensive because of the materials used, and the specialist procedure that has to be carried out to make sure everything goes well. The dental implant procedure here at next gen is carried by trained medical professionals who have spent decades offering aesthetic dentistry such as this. If you want it done correctly, you must invest in specialists, it’s as simple as that. In return for your investment, you’ll get a life free of irregular teeth or tooth rot. The confidence with which you can smile at loved ones, eat your favourite foods, and enjoy your favourite drinks is priceless. The benefits that implant dentistry gives you makes the investment worth every penny because you’ll never have to spend that kind of money on this procedure again.

CAN DENTAL TREATMENT HELP WITH PAIN RELIEF?

Seeking dental treatment when you’re suffering from pain in your tooth is the number one way to solve the issue. If you are experiencing pain with your tooth and choose not to fix it, you could suffer more serious dental health issues as a result. For example, if you have an infection at the root of your tooth, you will require root canal treatment to fix this issue. The treatment itself will be relatively pain-free as anaesthetic will be used to numb the area which is being treated but the pain from the infection could get increasingly worse.

Missing teeth can also lead to pain as the gum is exposed to any potential infection. By having a dental implant and permanently replacing that tooth, you’re improving your dental health and lowering the chance of infection occurring in the exposed area. Other treatments such as braces and invisible braces can also help with long-term pain relief. Overcrowded teeth can cause teeth to grow into each other and put pressure on one another, which can result in swelling of the gums and consistent pain. By having braces to fix your overcrowded issues, the teeth will no longer encroach on each other and the pressure will be relieved.

We can also extract teeth that are causing you a lot of pain, removing the problem completely. Whilst it would be preferable for anyone to retain all of their natural teeth, this simply isn’t possible in every case. Where you have an infection in your tooth or decay has damaged your tooth beyond repair, you may need your tooth removed. If you choose to keep the tooth in, it could lead to more decay and infections, putting your oral health at risk. However, just because you’re having a tooth removed, doesn’t mean that you have to go without and face gaps in your smile – we’ll be able to replace the tooth with an artificial tooth.

HOW SUCCESSFUL ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Dental implants are the most effective and thorough solution out there. They are incredibly successful and will last for at least 30 years. They are successful because of the way they are fitted. Once the bone regrowth has taken place and fused with the rod, the implants are as rigid as natural teeth. This fusing creates an incredibly solid base, making them the strongest solution. They are made even more successful over the long term by maintaining good oral hygiene. Keeping both the implants, and your natural teeth, clean and brushed will ensure that you don’t require further tooth replacement. Regular checkups with your dentist also make sure that the artificial teeth are successfully held in place. If there are issues, they’ll be able to spot them and sort things out before something such as tooth loss takes place. In conclusion, dental implants are incredibly successful. They will provide you with the ability to drink and eat foods with confidence and give you long-term success when installed by our dental surgeons.

WILL I HAVE SUPPORT THROUGHOUT MY DENTAL TREATMENT?

One of the aspects of our dental practice which we pride ourselves on the most is offering support to our patients whenever they need it and ensure they are comfortable at every stage of the treatment. One of the benefits of receiving private treatment is that you will receive primary care from a team of experts, in a facility that is far more welcoming and relaxing than practises where you would receive public dental services.

Whether it is a cosmetic treatment or a simple, smile fixing procedure, our level of care never changes. We believe this makes customers more open to a wider range of treatments and, as a result, a wider range of benefits. As patients know that no matter how intensive the treatment is that they need to have, we’ll always be on hand to make sure you’re safe at no extra health costs.

Even throughout complex treatments, we’ll ensure that we always put your health first. We wouldn’t want any safety concerns to prevent you from keeping your teeth healthy. If you’re suffering a lot of pain and have a dental emergency that needs correcting, lengthy waiting times, and a cold and clinical practice, can make the situation worse. However, we consider ourselves experts in emergency care and procedures that not only fixed dental issues but procedures that prevent more serious dental issues from occurring.

IF I HAVE GAPS BETWEEN MY TEETH CAN I RECEIVE DENTAL TREATMENT?

At Dental Excellence, we want to help anyone who has an issue with their smile and restore their confidence. With the range of treatments we offer, you should never have to suffer damaged confidence as a result of a dental issue. There are a few options you have when it comes to treatments that correct gaps between the teeth, which we will discuss with you in your consultation appointment with us and outline in your treatment plan.

One option you have is braces, or our invisible braces alternative, Clear X Aligners. Both of the treatments will alter your teeth over time, gradually moving them into more natural positions which makes them appear straighter, closing gaps between the teeth as a result. The results are permanent which is a huge bonus of opting for this treatment, however, treatment is longer than composite bonding options.

WHAT DO DENTAL IMPLANTS LOOK LIKE?

Dental implants will eventually just look like regular teeth. Our team of professionals obsess over the appearance of crowns and make sure that no one would know you have them fitted. From a technical point of view, dental implants look like screws. The titanium rods are fixed to the jaw bone and then a crown is fitted to that rod. If you took a cross-section of the inside of your face, you’d see a rod that is surrounded by newly formed bone that has fused to it over time. On top of that, you would see a tooth-like crown that is cemented to the top of that rod. The titanium post acts as the root, if you like, and is embedded far down into the jaw bone to ensure maximum integrity and strength. While all of that is interesting, all you need to know is that dental implants look white, bright, and exactly like normal teeth.

HOW GOOD ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?

We’re biased, but we think dental implants are brilliant! Over the years we have been helping people all around the world with our dental implant process, we have seen so many transformations. The confidence, and increase in self-esteem, that people get when they can finally produce a big smile with their new white implants, is priceless. Not only do dental implants give you an incredible amount of confidence, but they are also incredibly practical. Once fitted they allow you to go about your day, and eat, drink, and smile without worrying about the impact it will have. This can open a whole new world for you, a place where you don’t have to worry about eating certain foods for fear of causing yourself pain. Implants, when compared to other solutions, are also the best in that respect. They are expensive, yes, but they come with virtually no long-term side effects and are rooted into place, meaning you’ll never have to worry about them coming loose when you bite into something hard. We never tire of seeing the transformative effect of dental implants. We encourage anyone who can, to get them if they are looking for a sustainable solution.

HOW MUCH SHOULD DENTAL IMPLANTS COST?

When searching for dental implants, it’s important to know what prices to expect. Good implants can cost a couple of thousand pounds each, and that’s a good thing because you don’t want to opt for a cheap option. Paying more, and finding the right dental team for you, is worth it in the long run. It’s better to wait, save up the money, and invest in an outstanding set of implants from our team at next gen. Cheap dental implants can cause major problems to your health and your appearance. It’s also important to research and look into the people that are going to perform the procedure to ensure they are qualified to carry out this task. During your consultation, we will chat through the costs involved and make sure you’re aware of the prices. You can also view our team, their qualifications, and our reviews – all of which should give you the confidence that we are more than worth the investment.

HOW DO YOU CLEAN DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Caring for dental implants will go a long way to making sure they last for years and years. Thankfully, cleaning them isn’t much different from cleaning your actual teeth. Using a soft-bristled toothbrush, and a low abrasive toothpaste, twice a day will help to keep the implants clean. If you’re keen to go that extra mile, you could use a nylon coated interdental brush to reach the difficult places near the crown. You can also add floss into your daily oral hygiene routine, as well as oral irrigators. All of this will prevent gum disease and stop plaque from building up around the implants, causing potentially harmful infections. A build-up of dental plaque can cause mucositis (gum inflammation) and peri-implantitis (bone loss around the implant) and must be avoided at all costs. When brushing, pay extra attention to the areas where the implant and adjacent tooth meet as this is where plaque can accumulate.

WHY REPLACE MISSING TEETH?

There are plenty of reasons – both cosmetic and medical – why someone wants to replace missing teeth. At the end of the day, replacing them, either by implants or another method, is a personal choice. These choices could stem from being insecure, or low in self-confidence, because of anxiety around the appearance. It could also be because of more immediate medical reasons which need to be addressed by the application of implants. It’s no doubt that replacing missing teeth can transform lives, but for people who are happy the way they are, that is equally as fine and should be applauded too. Here at next gen, we would never overtly encourage someone to replace missing teeth if they weren’t interested. We only work with people who come to us and want to enjoy the benefits that come with implants.
